Muskegon Area First Hires New President!

Muskegon Area First is pleased to announce that James B. Edmonson has been hired as the new President & CEO of Muskegon Area First, Muskegon County’s lead economic development agency.

Edmonson comes to Muskegon Area First with over 25 years of experience in economic development, planning, public relations, administration and finances. From 1993 – 1997, Edmonson worked in the City of Muskegon’s Community and Economic Development Department, but has also had experience in Watertown, New York, Thibodoux, Louisiana and many other locations.

Most recently, Edmonson returned to Muskegon and was managing the day-to-day operations of WoodWorks of America, a family-owned custom cabinet and furniture manufacturer.

“We are pleased to announce that Mr. Edmonson will be heading up Muskegon Area First. His many years of experience will prove extremely useful in working on our local projects and with area businesses,” stated Roland Crummel, Muskegon Area First Chair.

Additionally, Muskegon Area First recently announced the executive officers for 2004: Chair – Roland Crummel, Laketon Township, Vice-Chair – John VanWyck, Verizon Communications, Secretary – Mayor Henry Roesler, City of Montague, Treasurer – Mayor Bob Young, City of Roosevelt Park.

Muskegon Area First is a countywide economic development corporation focused on leveraging public and private investment to accelerate business growth and the creation of high-quality employment opportunities in Muskegon County.
